The instrument has (a) a body having opposing first and second ends, the body comprising a marking element extending from one or both ends, and (b) a sheet dispenser coupled to a first cap that is able to engage the first or the second end of the body portion, the dispenser comprising (i) a base disposed on the first cap; and (ii) a cover removably, e.g., slideably, engageable with the base, wherein the dispenser is disposed axially along a centerline of the writing element.
