A control section executes a fault countermeasure process in relation to the memory device of the cartridge in a case where the relationship between a first liquid consumption amount obtained from the liquid usage information stored in the memory device of the cartridge mounted in the liquid ejecting apparatus and a second liquid consumption amount obtained from the liquid usage information stored in the non-volatile memory with regard to the cartridge is outside of a permitted range set in advance.
