The digital image processing apparatus includes a motion sensor installed in the apparatus and configured to generate a signal in response to motion of the apparatus, and a controller receiving the motion signal, and controlling the digital image processing apparatus to perform a photographing preparation operation when the signal indicates that the motion is a photographing motion made in preparation of a user performing photography.
