The light emitting device comprises: a light emitting structure including a first conductive type semiconductor layer, an active layer over the first conductive type semiconductor layer, and a second conductive type semiconductor layer over the active layer; a dielectric layer formed in each of a plurality of cavities defined by removing a portion of the light emitting structure; and a second electrode layer over the dielectric layer.
