The data storage system includes a storage which stores keywords including a character; data file receiver which receives a data file; a keyword specifier that specifies a keyword group including a keyword that is commonly included in both the keywords and the data file; a display which outputs the keyword group; a selector which selects a keyword from the keyword group; and data file storage which stores the data file in a folder whose folder name is generated based on the selected keyword.
