The subject disclosure may include, for example, a multi-port antenna structure including an antenna having a first antenna port to transmit electromagnetic signals and a second antenna port to receive electromagnetic signals, where the antenna is coupled to a housing assembly of a communication device to transmit energy between the housing assembly and the first antenna port and second antenna port, and where first resonant modes of the housing assembly for the first antenna port and second resonant modes of the housing assembly for the second antenna port are such that the first and second antenna ports are substantially isolated from each other.
