A submersible aeration pump includes a motor housing, an air inlet conduit carried by the motor housing, a pump motor in the motor housing, a rotatable armature drivingly engaged by the pump motor and disposed in air communication with the air inlet conduit and at least one air discharge conduit carried by and disposed in air communication with the armature. Air is drawn from the air inlet conduit, through at least a portion of the armature and is discharged from the at least one air discharge conduit, respectively, by centrifugal force responsive to operation of the pump motor.
