The present invention is a liquid crystal display device including: first and second substrates facing each other; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first and second substrates; first and second alignment films arranged on liquid crystal layer side-surfaces of the first and second substrates, respectively; and first and second polarization plates, the first polarization plate being arranged on a side opposite to the liquid crystal layer side of the first substrate, the second polarization plate being arranged on a side opposite to the liquid crystal layer side of the second substrate, wherein the first alignment film has an alignment portion in a frame region, an alignment direction of the alignment portion being in accordance with a polarization axis direction of the first polarization plate, and the second alignment film has a non-alignment portion for which an alignment treatment is not provided, the non-alignment portion of the second alignment film is positioned in a region corresponding to the alignment portion of the first alignment film.
