In some embodiments, methods for leaching a student in a computer-based learning environment are provided, the methods comprising: identifying a concept to be taught to the student; accessing a learning profile for the student, wherein the learning profile identifies at least one category of content as being more successful than other categories in teaching the student; selecting content based on the student learning profile, the concept to be taught, and a categorization of the content; and presenting the content to the student.
