The method includes outputting an application selection screen including one or more icons. The method includes receiving an indication of a first gesture input entered at a first location of a presence-sensitive display, the first location being associated with a first icon from the one or more icons. The method also includes outputting an indication of the one or more predefined functions of the application associated with the first icon, and responsive to a selection, executing the selected at least one of the one or more predefined functions without outputting the respective primary application user interface for the application associated with the first icon.
