A reception unit receives a second pilot signal indicating a transmission modulation method that is the method for modulating a transmitted data signal. A switching unit, in accordance with the transmission modulation method indicated by the second pilot signal received by the reception unit, switches at least one of the modulation method of the first pilot signal transmitted by the transmission circuit and the redundancy of the error correction code of the first pilot signal.
