In one embodiment, a portable workstation is comprised of a plurality of components including a work surface or upper element, a stem or support element, and an anchor or base element. In one variant, the work surface element (and/or the base element) can be mounted to the stem element in first and second configurations. The various configurations provides a substantially level work surface (relative to the base) or a substantially inclined work surface, and/or varying degrees of offset relative to the base.
