A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate including a plurality of first protrusions extending from an end of the electrode assembly and a second electrode plate including a plurality of second protrusions extending from the end of the electrode assembly, at least one of the plurality of first protrusions or the plurality of second protrusions including a planar portion and a curved portion; a case containing the electrode assembly; and a collector plate coupled to the at least one of the plurality of first protrusions or the plurality of second protrusions and covering at least the curved portion.
