The method includes alternately generating repeated left-eye images and repeated right-eye images; turning off a backlight unit during a period in which a left-eye image and a right-eye image are mixed and turning on the backlight unit during a period in which only one of the left-eye and right-eye images is displayed; and controlling a left-eye shutter and a right-eye shutter of shutter glasses during a period in which the backlight unit is turned on.
