According to the invention, at least one locking element (10; 110) is provided, which is mechanically coupled to the selector lever (2) and by means of which the shift lock (5) can be activated and/or deactivated in that with respect to the gearshift gate (3) that is to be blocked, the locking element (10; 110) can be moved into and out of the traversing path of the selector lever (2).
