The backlight unit includes a bottom chassis, and a panel guide module coupled to a corner region of the bottom chassis so as to support a display panel. The panel guide module includes a support plate to support a corner region of the display panel, a reinforcing rib disposed on the support plate, and a fixing rib disposed under the support plate and configured to be coupled to the bottom chassis.
