The positive first lens element has a convex object-side surface at a paraxial region. Both of the positive second lens element and the negative third lens element have a concave object-side surface at a paraxial region and a convex image-side surface at a paraxial region. The positive fourth lens element has a convex image-side surface at a paraxial region. The fifth lens element has a concave image-side surface at a paraxial region, wherein the surfaces thereof are aspheric, and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element has at least one convex shape at an off-axis region. The image capturing lens system has a total of five lens elements with refractive power.
