The printing processing in the printing processing unit is controlled in accordance with an instruction from a user successfully authenticated by the authentication unit. The printing device further includes a proxy registration processing unit capable of setting, for the print job, a user different from an issuer of the print job as a user who instructs output of the printed matter, and causes the printed matter to be output when the instruction on output is made by the user set as the user who instructs output of the printed matter.
