Also provided are an organic electroluminescence device capable of emitting light having a short wavelength (such as blue light) with high luminous efficiency and having a long lifetime by having such constitution that the organic EL device contains one or more organic thin film layers including a light emitting layer between a cathode and an anode, and at least one layer of the organic thin film layers contains the organic luminescent medium, and an organic luminescent medium that can be used in an organic thin film layer of the organic EL device.
