A self-releasing fuser member for an image forming apparatus having a fluoropolymer with fluorocarbon chains bonded to the fluoropolymer via a linking group; a quaternary, tertiary, or secondary carbon atom; and a reactive group. The fluorocarbon chains are oriented nonparallel to the surface of the self-releasing fuser member.
