An ultrasound imaging system (10) includes a display (16) for displaying an ultrasound image and an analysis package operatively connected to the image display. The analysis package provides a user the ability to manage an ultrasound measurement-based calculation. The analysis package facilitates the management of the measurement-based calculation by displaying for the user a sequence of data entry steps. Information necessary for managing the calculation is accepted and verified at each step and then, also used to determine which step to display next. At the conclusion of the final step, the measurement-based calculation is saved in the system.
