The patterned retarder includes a first retarder transmitting only a left eye image of the 3D image from the display panel and a second retarder transmitting only a right eye image of the 3D image. Pixels disposed on the display panel alternately display the 3D image and a black image every one horizontal line in an interlace manner through a time division.
