A method implemented in a network controller used in a mobile backhaul (MBH) network is disclosed. The method includes receiving one or more physical layer parameters from MBH transceivers in the MBH network, computing an admissible set of rate matrices, computing a capacity region based on the admissible set of rate matrices, deciding MBH transmission topology, and transmitting the decision to the MBH transceivers.
