To communicate with a software application, internal data of the software application is exposed or otherwise made accessible responsive to injection of computer readable program code comprising a scripting engine into a runtime environment associated with the software application. Computer readable program code comprising a script in accordance with the internal data is loaded. The script is interpretable by the scripting engine for execution with existing code of the software application to alter operation thereof without modification of the existing code.
