Abstract:
An additive for lubricating oil of the present invention contains an amide compound represented by the following general formula (1). A lubricating oil composition of the present invention contains: a lubricating base oil containing a mineral base oil and/or a synthetic base oil; and an amide compound represented by the following general formula (1). R1R2N—COCH2OH (1) (In the general formula (1), R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each represents an alkyl group having 16 to 22 carbon atoms.)
