The image forming apparatus includes: a memory-card storing section that includes a pit for storing the memory card therein, the memory-card storing section being provided in a main body of the image forming apparatus as an apparatus main body; and an outer cover detachably attached to the apparatus main body to cover the memory-card storing section. At least one portion of the memory-card storing section is configured to be brought into contact with the housing of the memory card when the memory card is stored in the memory-card storing section and is configured to be electrically connected to a ground of the apparatus main body.
