The display device display panel, also includes a voltage generation unit to supply a voltage having an AC component superposed on a DC component to the transparent conductive film. The AC component is a voltage with reverse polarity with respect to a spike-shaped voltage occurring at the transparent conductive film to thereby cancel out effects of the spike-shaped voltage on the transparent conductive film.
