A method for receiving and sending a television program according to one embodiment includes receiving a request to record a television program and receiving the television program. Further, the method includes storing a representation of the television program on a computer readable medium. Also, the method includes receiving a request to send the representation of the television program to a handheld device. Additionally, the method includes reducing a size of the representation of the television program and sending the reduced-size representation of the television program to the handheld device.
