Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for reducing latency and improving beacon reception by a device capable of providing multiple wireless interfaces via a single radio (a “multi-interface device”). The multi-interface device utilizes the single radio to communicate with a first device over a first wireless channel and to communicate with a second device over a second wireless channel. The multi-interface device determines that a difference in time between a transmission of a first beacon by the first device over the first wireless channel and a transmission of a second beacon by the second device over the second wireless channel is less than a predetermined amount of time. In response to determining that the difference in time is less than the predetermined amount of time, the multi-interface device sends a request to either the first or the second device to shift the transmission of future beacons by a requested offset time.
