The photographing optical system includes: a first aperture diaphragm for forming an image of the aperture diaphragm in a position between a pupil and a posterior surface of a crystalline lens of the eye; and a second aperture diaphragm for forming an image of the aperture diaphragm not acting as a field diaphragm, in a position between the fundus of the eye and the image of the first aperture diaphragm.
