Mechanisms for network operation of a wireless communications system/network include one or more MSR Base Stations (BSs). The MSR network node is configured to handle multiple Radio Access Technologies (RATs), generate a message comprising an MSR identifier identifying the MSR network node and/or MSR network node configuration data, and send the generated message to another network node for use in network operation. The generated message may be generated and sent upon detecting an initiating event.
