A transfer roller transfers a toner image from a surface of a photosensitive drum onto a sheet at a transfer nip portion, and the control portion changes the transfer bias voltage applied to the transfer roller and the separation bias voltage applied to a charge eliminating needle to have larger voltage values before a trailing edge of the sheet, which is conveyed to the transfer nip portion and is subjected to transfer, passes through the transfer nip portion.
