The light emitter emits light of a first color distribution towards the light exit window. The luminescent layer comprises first second areas, forming a pattern. A first characteristic of the first area is similar to a second characteristic of the second area to obtain a first light emission by the first area into the ambient and a second light emission by the second area into the ambient. The respective light emissions are experienced as similar by the viewer if the light emitter is in operation. A first reflection characteristic of the first area is different from a second reflection characteristic of the second area to obtain a first ambient light reflection by the first area that is different from a second ambient light reflection by the second area.
