The image display device includes: a light-emitting unit including a first light source configured such that a peak wavelength of a spectral spectrum of the light source is within a wavelength region in which a difference between color matching functions of different visual angles is small and a second light source that differs from the first light source; a control unit configured to switch a light source to be lighted to one of the first light source and the second light source based on an instruction; and a display panel that is illuminated by the light-emitting unit.
