The invention describes managing, via the receiver, a specific correction of telephone signal degradation caused by the length of the analogue line between the parties. Said line length between the receiver and the telephone switchboard to which said receiver is connected is stored in the receiver. Advantageously, the line lengths between the receiver of the called party and the corresponding switchboard are stored, for example in the director of the apparatus. During the call, said line length is taken into account by a specific correction means for said correction inside the receiver.
