The ink jet heads includes a nozzle for discharging ink droplets, an ink chamber for storing ink to be supplied to the nozzle at a former stage of the nozzle, the ink chamber having a hole connected to the nozzle on any surface of the ink chamber and an opening on a position different from the hole, a thin film for covering the opening of the ink chamber, and a piezoelectric element that is displaced according to the drive signal so as to apply pressure to the ink chamber. The piezoelectric element is disposed on the thin film with a main surface along the thin film.
