A transmission terminal communicates with a reception terminal using a first communication path (a 60 GHz band) or a second communication path (a 2.4 GHz band or 5 GHz band). A first communication path connection detector 17 detects the connection or disconnection of the first communication path to or from the reception terminal. A throughput measurement section measures the throughputs of the first communication path and the second communication path. On the basis of the result of the detection of the connection or disconnection and the throughputs of the first communication path and the second communication path, a terminal controller judges whether or not to switch a communication path for data transfer. A communication path switch switches the communication path for data transfer to the first communication path or the second communication path.
