According to the disclosure, the temperature sensor is fixed to the road finishing machine and directed to the subsoil such that it may detect a temperature at least of a region of the subsoil which is located in front of the screed, seen in the direction of travel. In accordance with the disclosure, the temperature data of the subsoil region may be georeferenced and sent to a following compacting vehicle for determining a rolling pattern, said vehicle determining or adapting its rolling pattern based on said data.
