Data characterizing a first signal transmitted in an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system by a transmitter with one or more transmit antennas through an in-band channel and received by a receiver with a plurality of receive antennas can be received. The first signal can include one or more in-band pilot pulses. A channel quality for an out-of-band channel can be predicted based on the received data and a cross-correlation between an in-band channel and one or more out-of-band channels.
