A dampening system dampens for/aft forces on the archery aid. A method of stabilizing an arrow in flight includes mounting a compound bow to an archery aid, the archery aid including a tri-pod base; and shooting the arrow from the compound bow mounted to the archery aid. The archery aid dampens the shot by minimizing kicking.
