An electric submersible pump disposed within the lateral leg of the multilateral junction device. The pump when operating placing the multilateral junction area under a positive pressure compared to a pressure in the lateral borehole and in the primary borehole downhole of the multilateral junction area. A method of controlling sand at a multilateral junction area of a primary borehole and a lateral borehole.
