The circuitry which, in operation, judges whether or not a display image at an end of scrolling is included in a region of the screen during scrolling and determines, to be a control target region, a region judged not to include the display image at the end of the scrolling of the region of the screen; and performs control of lowering brightness of the control target region on the display image during scrolling.
