In some embodiments, a voltage converter can include a voltage conversion circuit having an inductor configured to be charged and discharged to facilitate conversion of an input voltage to an output voltage, and a switch configured to allow the inductor to be charged and discharged. The voltage converter can further include a logic drive unit configured to provide a drive signal to the switch to control the charging and discharging of the inductor. The voltage converter can further include a mode control unit configured to provide a mode-switching signal to the logic drive unit to control switching from a continuous control mode to a discontinuous control mode based on a first switching threshold, and from the discontinuous control mode to the continuous control mode based on a second switching threshold that is different from the first switching threshold.
