The optical component layer is positioned relative to the plurality of planar emission structures such that light emitted by the plurality of planar emission structures encounters the optical component layer. The optical component layer includes a plurality of discontinuities. Each discontinuity of the plurality of discontinuities is laterally positioned between a respective pair of adjacent planar emission structures of the plurality of planar emission structures.
