Abstract:
An imaging device configured to convert a first electromagnetic emission or spectrum to a second electromagnetic emission or spectrum is provided. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the imaging device comprises an electromagnetic spectrum detector configured from a nanomaterial and operable to receive the first electromagnetic emission or spectrum and generate a voltage based at least in part on the received first electromagnetic emission or spectrum. The imaging device further comprises a capacitor, configured from a nanomaterial and operable to receive the generated voltage from the detector, store the voltage or charge for a brief period of time, and then release the stored voltage or charge. The imaging device further comprises an electromagnetic emission or spectrum emitter configured from a nanomaterial and operable to receive the stored and released charge or voltage from the capacitor and generate the second electromagnetic emission or spectrum in response to the charge or voltage received from the capacitor.
