In a display device which includes a pixel circuit including an electro-optic element and a drive transistor, a driving method includes: a detecting a characteristic of the drive transistor; detecting a characteristic of the electro-optic element; storing characteristic data obtained based on detection results in the first and second detection of characteristics of the drive transistor and electro-optic element, as correction data; and correcting the video signal based on the correction data.
