Described are personal electronics device mounting structures including a base (12) with an aft surface, wherein the base is configured to fit substantially within a recess (42) so that the aft surface of the base (12) is substantially flush with an aft surface surrounding the recess (42) in a stowed position, and wherein at least a first portion of the base (12) is positioned aft of the recess and at least a second portion of the base (12) is positioned within the recess (42) in a deployed position, and a cradle (14) coupled to the base, wherein the cradle (14) comprises a pair of arms (22) configured to hold a personal electronics device securely in place adjacent a passenger seat back when the base (12) is in the deployed position.
