The organic pigment composition for color filters includes an organic pigment (A) having an average primary particle size of 100 nm or less; and a copolymer (B) of a (meth)acrylic acid ester having a phosphate group and another (meth)acrylic acid ester having no phosphate group, the amount of a nonvolatile component of the copolymer (B) being 0.1 to 15 parts relative to 100 parts of the organic pigment (A) on a mass basis.
