The weft-thread beat-up device includes at least one reed and/or a batten and the reed and/or the batten extends in a longitudinal direction of the weft-thread beat-up device. The at least one camera apparatus is fastened to the weft-thread beat-up device and includes sensor elements arranged adjacent to one another. The camera is designed to record an image using the sensor elements, wherein the sensor elements are arranged in a row that extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the weft-thread beat-up device.
