The method includes obtaining character information and font information of a character; determining an attribute value of a font effect according to at least one of characteristics of the character and characteristics of the display apparatus; rendering the font effect based on the determined attribute value and applying the rendered font effect to the character; and outputting the character to which the font effect is applied.
